A stellar cast including Michelle Williams, Matthias Schoenaerts and Kristin Scott Thomas is in place for the forthcoming movie adaptation of Suite Francaise.
The feature is based on the works by Irène Némirovsky, set during the years 1940 to 1941. The novellas chronicle the connecting lives of a group of disparate Parisians as they fled the city for the countryside, preceding the German advance.
The line producer on the project is Christine Raspillere, who tells us that filming will take place from late June to late August, with eight weeks’ shooting in Brussels and eight days in France.
UK-based Qwerty Films are behind Suite Francaise, with Michael Kuhn, Andrea Cornwell and David Parfitt producing. Saul Dibb directs.
