Shooting gets underway this Friday (21 June) on The Gunman, with ten weeks in Barcelona to be followed by two weeks filming in the UK.
In the film, Sean Penn plays international operative Martin Terrier, who is hell bent on clearing his name and getting revenge, having been betrayed by those he works for.
Recent reports suggest that Idris Elba may be about to join the cast along with Javier Bardem.
Director Pierre Morel (Taken, From Paris with Love) is at the helm, working alongside producers Joel Silver and Andrew Rona. The film comes from Silver Pictures in LA, with funding from France’s Studio Canal. Pete Travis has written the screenplay, adapted from the novel by Jean-Patrick Manchette.
