Filming has begun on Maps to the Stars, featuring a stellar cast including John Cusack, Julianne Moore, Robert Pattinson and Olivia Williams. Directed by David Cronenberg, the shoot takes place in Toronto and Los Angeles, and is expected to last 30 days.
Bruce Wagner penned the film, which is described as a “complex look at Hollywood and what it reveals about Western culture.” It is co-financed by eOne and Prospero Pictures, with Martin Katz producing for Prospero.
It is the second time Pattinson has worked with Cronenberg, after their collaboration on Cosmopolis (2012). Cusack praised the filmmaker earlier today via Twitter, saying: “[Cronenberg has] such a clear vision and is so proactive.”
The film is produced with the support of Telefilm Canada, the Ontario Media Development Corporation and the Harold Greenberg Fund.
