Australian actor Russell Crowe is gearing up to make his directorial debut with The Water Diviner, in which he will star alongside Olga Kurylenko.
The feature is from Crowe’s own production company Fear of God Films, and is being overseen by Hopscotch Features in Sydney who told us that the project will have a production office set up very soon, with filming due to take place in Turkey and Australia.
The feature is during the final days of WWI, and centres on an Australian man who heads to Turkey in search of his missing sons, feared lost in the battle of Gallipoli. Crowe directs from a screenplay by Andrew Knight and Andrew Anastasios.
The Man of Steel actor has just finished playing Noah in the biblical epic of the same name from director Darren Aronofksy, which was filmed in Iceland, Mexico and various US locations.
