New photos have been released of Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, showing off a very trimmed Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Christopher Eccleston as Malekith the accursed and loads of Dark Elf minions.
Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of the graphic novel hero as he battles to save earth and all the nine realms from "an enemy that predates the universe itself".

The stellar cast includes Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo and - as previously released photos already revealed - a very beautiful Natalie Portman.
Disney's production has been shot in UK studios (with the exception of a few scenes in Iceland) and is directed by Alan Taylor, the Game of Thrones veteran.
Earlier this week composer Carter Burwell left the high-profile production, according to insiders due to ‘creative differences’. A replacement has not yet been found.
Fans will have to wait until the end of October to see the film in the UK where it will premiere a week before its US release.
