Amidst the anticipation of the season finale of Breaking Bad premiering on US cable channel AMC on 11 August, news has broken that the Latin American adaptation has started production in Colombia.
Under the title Metastasis, the remake is produced by Sony Pictures Television (SPT) and Teleset, and will air on Univision's UniMas in the US. Filming will take place in and around the capital of Bogota.

Taking the lead role of Walter White (or Walter Broco in this instance) is Diego Trujillo, who will star alongside Roberto Urbina as Walter’s accomplice and Sandra Reyes as Walter’s wife.

We have not only put together a world-class cast, but are also shooting in some of the country’s most magnificent locations. Metastasis is going to take audiences for a beautiful and thrilling ride.”
The critically acclaimed series follows the story of Walter White, a chemistry teacher who enters a world of drugs and crime after being diagnosed with cancer.
