The two lead actors on The Railway Man, Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman, are both on board Paddington Bear, which begins principal photography in the UK later this month.
Firth will not be seen however – he is lending his voice to the little bear, a much-loved children’s favourite created in the 1950s by author Michael Bond. Nicole Kidman will play a malevolent taxidermist, with Hugh Bonneville and Sally Hawkins as Mr and Mrs Brown, with whom Paddington lives in London.

In the books, Paddington arrives from ‘Darkest Peru’; shooting on the ‘Peruvian’ scenes actually took place in April this year in Costa Rica.
The feature comes from UK-based Heyday Films and producer David Heyman (Harry Potter) with finance from Studio Canal. Paul King directs from his own screenplay.
