Rumours are spreading that the next series of Game of Thrones might shoot in a new location, adding to the six it has filmed at so far.

Though Game of Thrones fans are still eagerly waiting to find out what happens next in series 4, pre-production for series 5 has already kicked off, with the latest news a surprising twist in possible filming locations.
A US publication was the first to report that HBO’s successful fantasy drama series is looking to film part of the next series in Andalucia, Spain, and are in talks with the local film commission regarding possible shooting locations.

Game of Thrones has filmed in six countries so far. Most of the filming took place on location and at Titanic Studios in Belfast, Northern Ireland (where the production office is based). For early series filming took place in Morocco, Malta and the US and for series 3 and 4 a large chunk of shooting took place in Croatia and Iceland.
For which part of the storyline the Spanish terrain would stand in is as of yet unknown but we’ll keep you posted as soon as we find out more..
The award-winning drama will continue for at least another two series, with production for series 5 starting this summer.
