At Febiofest - Prague International Film Festival, production/service company Film United co-founders Rick McCallum and Martin Šebík announced that the first Czech-Dutch co-production entitled Following The Dream (Za Sny), has been in development for the past year.
The feature film is set to be fronted by writer-director Karin Babinská, Šebík said: “As the story is set in the Czech Republic and another European country, it had been built from the very beginning as a European co-production.” A location was needed for the film that was by the seaside with a large city nearby. Rotterdam and its surroundings ended up fitting the bill perfectly.

Film United decided to go with Michael John Fedun’s Corrino Media Group as partners on the project. The two companies previously collaborated on Lee Tamahori’s action adventure Emperor in 2014.
Popular Czech singer and actor Richard KrajÄo is set to head the cast. KrajÄo’s last film, also fronted by Babinská, was 2013 film Wings of Christmas (Krídla Vánoc), which was a big box-office success in the Czech Republic.
Originally from the United States, McCallum – whose past credits include the Star Wars prequels and Red Tails - started Film United in Prague four years ago, producing the Borgia TV series as a multi-nation co-production and then moved on to hit European TV series Crossing Lines, starring William Fichtner.
Following The Dream is currently applying for the applicable funding from both the Czech State Film Fund and the Dutch Film Fund in time for shooting to begin in spring 2016.
