New Zealand and Poland will share filming expertise with a new co-production agreement, the 16th signed by New Zealand.
“This is the 16th bilateral film and television co-production agreement signed by New Zealand,” said Maggie Barry, New Zealand’s arts, culture and heritage minister.

“It will open the doors for our screen industry to access finance, expertise and distribution in Poland, and give the opportunity to share creative and technical resources.”
The new agreement will enable shoots from each country to access each other’s production industry support more easily.
Poland is becoming a hugely popular European filming location. New Zealand is a major international production hub and recently expanded its filming incentive programme to attract more shoots on the scale of James Cameron’s Avatar sequels (pictured).
“I welcome this agreement and look forward to the benefits it will bring to our screen sector,” Barry continued. “There is potential for new ventures and the opportunity to develop creative partnerships that will enhance the industry in both countries.”
Recent productions shot in New Zealand have included a remake of the Disney film Pete’s Dragon, and the acclaimed western Slow West.
