Plans submitted for North Foreshore Film Studios in Belfast have revealed a facility that could boost the city’s profile and bring more international producers to Northern Ireland.
The planned studios would cost around £10m to develop and offer a 66,000 sq ft sound stage, and workshop and production space.

“Given the success of Northern Ireland as a film and television production destination there is significant demand to enhance the amount of studio space available in Belfast,” said a design statement submitted with the proposal.
“Belfast Harbour and Belfast City Council want to support this successful industry and the wider economy as a whole. Working together will help ensure that Belfast continues to compete with other cities as a prime location for production.”
Northern Ireland’s production industry has been built around the success of HBO’s Game of Thrones (pictured), and Titanic Studios is also seeking to expand.
Other high-profile shoots have included Dracula Untold, BBC crime drama The Fall and Lost City of Z, co-produced by Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B.
