Alex Kurtzman, a co-writer and producer on the new Star Trek movie franchise, will executive produce the TV series, but it will not be related to the films.
Star Trek will be based on Pinewood Toronto Studios’ 46,000-sq-ft ‘mega stage’, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
