Marvel is looking into filming partly on location in Africa for its upcoming superhero movie Black Panther.
The eponymous character made his movie debut as part of an extensive ensemble in Captain America: Civil War and the film teased a full Black Panther adventure to continue expanding the world known as the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Black Panther will film its studio work in Atlanta, Georgia, but Marvel wants to also shoot scenes in Africa, revealed producer Nate Moore in comments to culture website The Undefeated.
“We’re definitely investigating shooting in Africa,” Moore told the website. “Both Marvel and Ryan [Coogler, the director] feel that would be really good for the movie.”
Marvel has become a long-term resident of Atlanta, which is one of America’s top production hubs due to its studio facilities and the generous filming incentive support available in Georgia.
Nigerian city Lagos was in fact recreated in Atlanta for scenes in Captain America: Civil War. However, Marvel does have experience of filming in Africa, having shot a key action sequence for Avengers: Age of Ultron in the South African city of Johannesburg featuring an epic fight between Iron Man and Hulk.
South Africa and Morocco are the main African production hubs for large-scale international shoots, but Cape Town or Johannesburg are likely to be the leading contenders for location filming on Black Panther. Either way, the move will help bring authenticity to the film, as well as potentially growing Marvel’s global fan base.
Shooting will first get underway on a pair of back-to-back Avengers sequels, which will again be based in Atlanta.
