Netflix will film drama series Edha on location in Buenos Aires from early next year, marking the online platform’s first project in Argentina.
Edha will be 13 hour-long episodes and will follow a fashion designer and single mother who begins a relationship with an immigrant-turned-model as she faces challenges at work.

“Netflix’s invitation to create its first original series in Argentina represents one of the largest opportunities in my career,” said Daniel Burman, the drama’s creator, director and showrunner.
“We are creating a project with a strong local identity to reach a global audience. On one platform, more than 81 million people will have the chance to establish an intimate connection with our story.”
Edha is just the latest South American series announced by Netflix in the last few months. The platform recently wrapped a second season of the 1980s-set drug drama Narcos in Colombia and is working on a new series based on Operation Car Wash, the far-reaching political scandal currently causing chaos in Brazil. Dystopian drama 3% also chose a Brazilian shoot last year.
Argentina has been a popular commercial filming location for years. The country does not yet offer formal filming incentives for international productions, but Edha should help boost its profile around the world.
