A new feature film starring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon is currently in pre-production readying to shoot in multiple European cities from early July.
Filming is based in Budapest and will take in locations including Amsterdam, Berlin and Vienna during the 10-week shoot.
According to Deadline, Outlander actor Sam Heughan is also in talks to join the The Spy Who Dumped Me, which centres on two friends (Kunis and McKinnon) who become embroiled in an international conspiracy of espionage when one of them finds out her ex-boyfriend was a secret agent.
The caper comedy is from LA-based Imagine Entertainment and is executive-produced by the company’s Ron Howard and Brian Grazer. Susanna Fogel directs from a screenplay she wrote with David Iserson.
Hungary is a popular filming hub with world-class studios and crew. Ridley Scott based production of The Martian at Korda Studios while the ITV mini-series Maigret doubled Budapest for 1950s Paris.
The country also offers a filming incentive in the form of a 25% rebate based on expenditure in the country and has co-production treaties with a number of other territories.
