Ryan Reynolds’ superhero sequel Deadpool 2 has started filming on location in Vancouver, 18 months after the first movie became the most successful R-rated film of all time.
Deadpool 2 follows the adventures of the Marvel comic book character, who stands out from the crowd as a foulmouthed, wise-cracking antihero.

The first film also shot in British Columbia for nearly 60 days, spending over CA$40m in the western Canadian province, including over a million dollars on location costs alone, according to figures from Creative BC.
Vancouver is one of Canada’s top production hubs and is under persistent pressure to offer more studio space. Martini Studios is among the latest facilities to open in one of the city’s eastern municipalities, and Skydance Studios has been active since September last year.
The city is also now home to Canada’s largest motion-capture facility, which is based at Vancouver Film School. War for the Planet of the Apes, the latest in the rebooted sci-fi franchise, has once again progressed motion-capture technology from a Vancouver base.
