Action superstar Dwayne Johnson is prepping Skyscraper, a new disaster movie that is using Vancouver as a production base.
The film features Johnson as an FBI hostage rescue operator on assignment in China who must save his family from the world’s tallest skyscraper when it’s threatened by fire.

Vancouver production is scheduled to begin in the next few weeks and will run through to mid-November this year.
Location filming will also take place in China, a move that could help the movie secure easier access to the Chinese market on release.
Johnson’s movie productions have followed the world’s leading filming incentive support programmes.
Skyscraper marks Johnson’s third film shoot in Vancouver, which is one of Canada’s top production hubs. In the last year his monster movie Rampage (pictured) and adventure film Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle both used Atlanta as a base, which is the most popular city for US feature production.
