Production spending in British Columbia (BC) surged by 35% in the 2016-17 financial year, reaching CA$2.6bn.
Vancouver is a North American production hub, offering studio facilities, an experienced crew and flexible locations, all back by British Columbia’s generous filming incentives.

“BC’s motion picture industry has earned a global reputation for excellence in the screen-based industries,” said Prem Gill, chief executive officer of production agency Creative BC.

The new Planet of the Apes film franchise has used Vancouver as a base over the course of three movies and action star Dwayne Johnson is currently in the city for his new film Skyscraper. Television series include the rebooted X-Files (pictured) and A Series of Unfortunate Events.
