Bangkok and Phuket are among the Thai filming locations that will be shot in the coming months for Netflix’s kidnap movie Dhaka, starring veteran Marvel actor Chris Hemsworth.
Other Thai locations will comprise Samut Songkhram, Nakhon Pathom and Ratchaburi Province, all within relatively easy travelling distance of Bangkok and known for picturesque floating markets and stupa buildings.

Dhaka is a kidnap thriller set in its namesake city, the capital of Bangladesh.
Hemsworth is also a producer on the film alongside his fellow Marvel veterans Joe and Anthony Russo. The movie is being directed by Sam Hargrave and has already shot scenes on location in Mumbai and Ahmedabad in India.
“We are very much looking forward to our shoot in Thailand,” said the Russos. “The country offers such diverse shooting locations and the local crews have been a pleasure to work with so far.
“We're happy to be here and are excited about spending the next few months in this beautiful country.”
Thailand has been gradually building its international production profile in recent years and launched a 15% filming incentive at the beginning of last year.
However, the incentive programme had little effect on the industry in its first year – while the country saw an increase in the number of features filmed locally from 50 to 80, only two shoots in fact benefitted from financial support.
Thailand’s production services remain the country’s primary appeal to international producers.
