Netflix has announced five new Spanish drama series that are in various stages of development, while several existing shows are returning for new seasons.
Carlos Montero will write and direct the eight-part El Desorden que Dejas, based on his own psychological thriller novel about a literature teacher who gets embroiled in a mystery surrounding her predecessor’s suicide while also trying to save her marriage.

Dias de Navidad will be a three-part drama telling the stories of four sisters and key moments in their lives, while Valeria is based on novels by Elisabet Benavent and follows a writer who turns to her three best friends to help her through the challenges of her life.
Nacho Vigalondo will direct the ten-part superhero comedy El Vecino and production company Zeppelin will make the five-part fantasy anime adaptation Memorias de Idhun.
Popular shows Las chicas del cable (Cable Girls), Elite and La casa de papel (Money Heist) – the latter of which is reportedly Netflix’s most-watched non-English-language drama – are to get new seasons.
Last July, Netflix announced a Spanish production hub for Ciudad de la Tele (TV City) in Madrid.
