Ten-part Arthurian drama Cursed is set to film on location in the UK for Netflix, with several weeks of production scheduled for Wales.
The story follows teenage girl Nimue who joins forces with a young mercenary called Arthur to deliver an ancient sword to the wizard Merlin, but Nimue is destined to become the Lady of the Lake, as depicted in the legend of King Arthur.

Cursed is based on a young-adult companion book being written by Tom Wheeler with illustrations by Frank Miller. Both are co-creators and executive producers of the series.
“I have always been entranced by the mythological Arthur story – and by Nimue, in particular. It can be interpreted in any number of ways – from a delightful children’s story, as in The Sword in the Stone, to a terrifying interpretation like Excalibur,” said Miller in a statement when the book was first announced.
Cursed marks just the latest recent attempt at bringing the legend of King Arthur to the screen. Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword also shot scenes on location in Wales, while Joe Cornish filmed his modern-day take The Kid Who Would Be King in Cornwall.
