David Dobkin directs the film from a screenplay by Ferrell and Andrew Steele; the feature comes from Gary Sanchez Productions.
The Eurovision Song Contest started in 1956, making it one of the longest-running TV programmes in the world.
Some of the more famous winners include Abba, Celine Dion and Dana International.
Ferrell has experience of filming in the UK – in 2017 he starred in and produced Holmes & Watson, co-starring John C Reilly, which was based at Shepperton Studios and took in locations including Hampton Court Palace.
