Exclusive: Altadium to produce horror film The Ghosts of Monday in Cyprus

Leading production outfit Altadium Group is set to produce a new horror-thriller film, The Ghosts of Monday, with Italian director Francesco Cinquemani at the helm.

The film is scheduled to shoot in Cyprus in February 2021 and will boast an international cast.

Based on a script by Barry Keating (Nightworld, Hidden in the Woods), The Ghosts of Monday is a chilling ghost story about a group of US filmmakers who travel to Cyprus to shoot a documentary in the tragically infamous Hotel Gula -- a once popular resort where more than 100 people were killed in mysterious circumstances.

Cyprus based Altadium is currently casting through the offices of Neil McGinley, the casting director of films such as Wrath of The Titans and The Guard.

Altadium’s previous film was S.O.S Survive or Sacrifice, starring William Baldwin, about a hot air balloon flight gone wrong, which filmed entirely in Cyprus and completed post-production during the beginning of the pandemic.

Cyprus has experienced an uptick in COVID-19 cases like many other countries, but the island continues to attract productions with its potential 35% cash incentive and unique mix of locations that can double for anywhere from Burma to Switzerland.

Demetris Logothetis’ $27.5m sci-fi martial arts film Jiu Jitsu, starring Nicolas Cage, filmed in Cyprus in 2019, and the director is planning to shoot his next project Man of War there too.
