The hugely popular fantasy series returns to the Hungarian capital with new cast members, including Patrick Gibson and Anna Leong Brophy

Netflix’s fantasy-adventure series Shadow and Bone will return to shoot in Budapest, Hungary as it is renewed for a second reason.
The series adapted from Leigh Bardugo's bestselling Grishaverse novels was based at Origo Studios and shot across various locations in and around Budapest in 2019 for its first season.
Shadow and Bone follow lowly soldier and orphan Alina Starkov who has just unleashed an extraordinary power that could be the key to setting her country free. Alina is torn from everything she knows to train as part of an elite army of magical soldiers known as Grisha. But as she struggles to hone her power, she finds that allies and enemies can be one and the same and that nothing in this lavish world is what it seems.
The main cast from the first season will be joined by Anna Leong Brophy, Patrick Gibson, Lewis Tan and Jack Wolfe. Eric Heisserer who adapted the original screenplay and served as showrunner returns on the project, where he is joined by Daegan Fryklind. The pair will also exec produce the fantasy drama.
Shawn Levy, Josh Barry, Dan Levine, and Dan Cohen will produce for 21 Laps Entertainment alongside Loom Studios' Pouya Shahbazian and Shelley Meals.
