AMC Networks' Untitled Walking Dead spinoff series has entered pre-production.
One of the series' leads, Danai Gurira, confirmed the news in an Instagram post shared on 2 January.
Alongside a carousel of behind-the-scenes selfies with Andrew Lincoln and showrunner Scott M. Gimple, Gurira captioned the post: “#Richonne spin-off. 2023. Pre-production is in full swing. We’re getting there!“
The outlet also lists Robert Kirkman, and David Alpert as producers.
According to Production List, the shoot will take place in New Jersey from February.
Speaking at the AMC Networks Summit in New York in September last year, Gimple teased that the six-episode spinoff promises a mind-blowing new outing in the Walking Dead universe.
These are two people that have been separated for a very long time. They've lived whole other existences and they have to find themselves again, let alone each other. It's hopefully going to be mind-blowing.
