Say Nothing, FX’s adaptation of the New Yorker writer Patrick Radden Keefe’s book, has entered pre-production ahead of its UK shoot, as reported exclusively by our sister site The Knowledge

In 2019, LA-based production company Color Force optioned the rights to Keefe’s book Say Nothing: A True Story of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland, about the notorious abduction and murder of a 38-year-old widow Jean McConville in 1972, during the Troubles (known internationally as the Northern Ireland sectarian conflict) and the decades of fallout that followed.

Color-Force, known for its film adaptation of The Hunger Games and the Diary of a Wimpy Kid novels, as well as TV series American Crime Story and Pose, has a first-look deal with FX Productions.

Founded by producer Nina Jacobson (previously Buenva Vista) who was joined later by Brad Simpson, the pair told The Hollywood Reporter in 2019: “We’re always on the lookout for a literary page-turner, and when we started Patrick’s book we couldn’t put it down. We’re very excited he’s partnering with us to tell this story on FX.”

As of the 2019 report, Keefe is on board the project as one of the executive producers, alongside Jacobson and Simpson.
