Beatles manager Brian Epstein biopic, Midas Man, wraps filming in the UK

After enlisting its third and final director, the feature is now in post-production

Filming on the long-delayed biopic about Beatles manager Brian Epstein, Midas Man, has wrapped production in the UK.

UK director Joe Stephenson (Doctor Jekyll) commandeered the project earlier this year from previous filmmaker Sara Sugarman (Vinyl) who exited after "creative differences and scheduling issues" (via Deadline).

Sugarman took the helm in late 2021 from filmmaker Jonas Åkerlund (Polar) who first left in haste following conflicts with producers.

Midas Man follows legendary Beatles manager Brian Epstein’s role in the cultural revolution that followed the Beatles’ explosion into global stardom. Epstein was the Beatles’ manager from 1962 until his untimely death in 1967 at age 32.

The film’s cast was revealed in November 2021, with The Queen's Gambit actor Jacob Fortune-Lloyd headlining the biopic as the Beatles manager.

Jonah Lees will play John Lennon, while musician Blake Richardson is set to portray Paul McCartney. Leo Harvey Elledge will portray George Harrison, while Campbell Wallace has been cast as drummer Ringo Starr.

Elsewhere, Peaky Blinders star Adam Lawrence has been cast as the commonly referred 'Fifth Beatle' Pete Best, who was replaced in the band by Ringo Starr before their success.
