Director Nikkhil Advani has wrapped production on John Abraham's action drama Vedaa in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India.
The film promises "high-octane sequences and gripping action" as Abraham takes on the role of a mentor, guiding and training Sharvari Wagh's character. It also stars Abhishek Banerjee.
Production for Vedaa went on floors in Jodhpur on June 20 and has now wrapped after a 59-day shoot in the northwest Indian region.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday (August 15) to share the production status, Advani posted pictures of the wrap party with cast and crew.
Advani began his caption: "4 Years Ago I decided to tell this story. @aseemarrora was the first person I spoke with and then my partners in crime at @emmayentertainment @onlyemmay and @madhubhojwani.
"Along the way I turned to @thejohnabraham whom I hope will always keep wanting to be part of the stories that I want to tell and I met @sharvari whom I always wish to see in my 9 inch monitor and 70 foot screen. @nowitsabhi what do I say about every frame you command. You make me miss Irrfan more everyday. @tamannaahspeaks thank you for answering my call.
He then thanked his team for pushing through the turbulent weather throughout the shoot, noting record-breaking rain.
"The Jodhpur schedule of #Vedaa has wrapped and everyone who needs to be thanked for sticking through “most rain in 100 years” and the tough (OMFG how tough) schedule from step well to Kejarla are not in this picture, but you know who you are.
"I am blessed because of you guys," he concluded.
When the film was announced in June, Abraham said in a statement: “I am looking forward to giving my all for this project. This riveting story will definitely leave an imprint in your mind as it did for me. I am honoured to play the part and excited for kickstarting this journey.”
The film also reunites Abraham and Advani, having previously collaborated on Salaam-e-Ishq (2007) and Batla House (2019). They also co-produced the film Sardar Ka Grandson in 2021.
Vedaa is written by Aseem Arora (Mission Majnu, Cuttputlli, LucknowCentral) and produced by Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment and JA Entertainment.
The film is slated for release in 2024.
