Ronan stars in Jonatan Etzler’s satirical thriller Bad Apples

Saoirse Ronan's next project Bad Apples has set a shoot date of spring 2024 in UK under an Equity contract, according to Deadline.
Bad Apples, based on dapts Rasmus Lindgren’s debut novel De Oönskade with a screenplay by Jess O’Kane, is English language debut of Swedish director Jonatan Etzler. It tells the story of tells the story of primary school teacher Maria (Ronan), attempting to inspire her class of 10-year-olds.
However, one unruly and chaotic student thwarts her, so Maria makes a series of bad decisions ending in locking this 'bad apple' in her house. Though she initially tries to fix the problem, her class starts to improve and with her career back on track, Maria finds herself stuck.
Bad Apples is being produced by Pulse Films' Oskar Pimlott, with executive producers Judy Counihan and Jamie Hall for Pulse Films, Philip Knatchbull, Marc Smit, Paul Wiegard and Kristian Brodie for CCM, and Paul Grindey and Charles Moore for Viewfinder Film.
Pulse Films' Pimlott said: "Jonatan has an unparalleled ability to create hilarious and horrifying cinema from the uncomfortable truths of human nature. We couldn’t be more excited that his unique perspective is going to collide with the extraordinary depth and talent of Saoirse Ronan in this special film."
