Producer Ian Henry of UK-based London Film & TV has revealed details of the location shoot of Babak Anvari’s psychological thriller Hallow Road, starring Rosamund Pike and Matthew Rhys.
Henry explained production has started in the town of Greystones near Wicklow for the remainder of this week, as of writing. The production will then move “next week to Prague, where we will be filming until mid December.”
"Ireland has great locations, world-class crew, and we received unbelievable support from Screen Ireland who moved incredibly quickly to support us and without whom we would not have been able to get into production this year," he said.
"We found the perfect location for Hallow Road in Wicklow, just south of Dublin."
"In Prague we were able to tap into rich expertise," Henry said, naming production service company Film Kolektiv's Jan Kallista. For their volumetric shoot (where actors are filmed from all angles to render a 3D video), Hallow Road will head to FAK Film's "great new facility" in Kladno, Czech Republic.
"Combined with the strong Czech crews, it [was] an easy decision to film in Prague."
Lucan Toh of UK- and-US based Two & Two Pictures is producing alongside Henry and Richard Bolger of Ireland’s Hail Mary Pictures. XYZ Films and Screen Ireland are co-financing.
Anvari, whose credits include Under The Shadows, is directing from a script by William Gillies about two parents who enter a race against time when they receive a distressing late-night phone call from their daughter after she caused a tragic car accident.
