Leigh Whannell's Wolf Man for Blumhouse Pictures and Universal is now in production.
Previous reports state production would take place in Wellington, New Zealand.
The film stars Poor Things' Christopher Abbott and Ozark's Julia Garner.
Wolf Man is penned by Whannell, Corbett Tuck, Lauren Schuker Blum, and Rebecca Angelo. It follows a mother, played by Garner, whose family is being terrorised by a lethal predator.
Producer Jason Blum shared a behind the scenes photo of Whannell on X (formerly Twitter), confirming filming and the official title.
Universal began an MCU style 'Dark Universe' in 2017 with a reboot of The Mummy, but poor critical and commercial reception halted further development. After the success of 2020's The Invisible Man, also directed by Whannell, Universal added Wolf Man to its slate, with Ryan Gosling attached to star.
After years of development, in January 2024 it was confirmed Abbott would replace Gosling, and Garner was added to the cast.
