Driving Miss Daisy's Bruce Beresford's Overture has begun production in western Australia, with filming taking place on location in various locations across Perth.

Written and directed by Beresford, Overture follows Stephen Seary, a successful stage designer returning to his small Australian hometown to say goodbye to his dying mother.

Ambience Entertainment closed the financing, with the film also receiving major production investment from Screen Australia in association with Screenwest through the WA Production Attraction Incentive, and Spectrum Entertainment. Post, digital and visual effects supported by Screen NSW. Natixis Coficine provided production financing.

Elvis' Luke Bracey stars as Stephen alongside Bryan Brown, Susie Porter, Celia Massingham, Shubshri Kandiah, and Nicholas Hammond.

The location shoot will capture "the breathtaking landscapes and untouched nearby country towns," said Michael Boughen, producer at Ambience Entertainment.

Overture is slated for an Australian theatrical and worldwide release in 2025.
