First look at Disney+'s upcoming UK Original A Thousand Blows from the mind of Steven Knight, starring Malachi Kirby, Erin Doherty and Stephen Graham.
Season two of the series has already completed production, with further details to be announced.
Season one was filmed on location in London with sound post-production services provided by Big Bang Sound, Armoury Services provided by UK-based Cohor Film Services, costumes provided by UK-based Sands Films, and voice and dialect coaching by UK-based Representation Upson Edwards.
A Thousand Blows is produced by The Story Collective and is a co-production with Matriarch Productions and Water and Power Productions.
Kirby stars as Hezekiah Moscow, who is drawn into the criminal underbelly of the thriving boxing scene where he meets Mary Carr (Doherty), leader of an all-female London gang. Steven Knight is the lead writer for the series, with episodes also written by Ameir Brown, Insook Chappell, Harlan Davies and Yasmin Joseph. The series is directed and executive produced by Tinge Krishnan and Nick Murphy, alongside Ashley Walters and Coky Giedroyc.
Executive producers are Graham and Hannah Walters for Matriarch Productions; Damian Keogh and Kate Lewis for The Story Collective; Tom Miller and Sam Myer for Water and Power Productions; and Lee Mason, director of scripted content for Disney+; alongside professor David Olusoga. Tom Miller is series producer and Barrington Robinson and Jo Johnson are producers.
