Argo Films has boarded a film adaptation of Strictly Come Dancing star Johannes Radebe’s memoir JoJo: Finally Home.

Headed up by Richard Johns, Argo will handle the UK portion of production while Helena Spring Films will lead the South Africa shoot. UK- and US-based outfit Arrested Industries also produces.

The film will follow Radebe’s rise from his home country of South Africa to becoming a professional dancer in the UK, best known for the BBC talent series Strictly Come Dancing.

There is no news on who will portray Radebe but the dancer will be involved in production as the choreographer.

Under the working title Finally Home, the feature is thought not to be a musical, but it will include several dance numbers.
