The romance and time-travel film also stars Mena Suvari, Brandon Routh, Andrew McCarthy, Cheech Marin, and Janet Montgomery.
The film follows firefighter Sam Ellis (played by Routh) who enrols in a rehabilitation program at a retreat run by Theodore Deo (Keitel) after losing his leg in an accident. There, he discovers the facility's magical properties when touching a painting transports him to the 1950s where he meets and falls in love with Tilly during the Grand Hotel's height.
He devises a method to extend his time in the past but complications disrupt his present and when he learns of a fire that sealed the hotel's fate, Sam enters a race against time to change the past and save his love.
Highland Film Group is continuing sales at TIFF on the film, having launched the project at Cannes.
