Netflix has greenlit Love Untangled, a youth romance feature set in 1998 Korea that explores themes of first love and friendship.
The film follows 19-year-old Park Se-ri (played by Shin Eun-soo) as she plans to straighten her perpetually frizzy hair before making a life-changing confession, all while getting entangled with transfer student Gong Myoung, played by Han Yun-seok of Netflix's Citizen Of A Kind.
Cha Woo-min plays Kim Hyeon, Se-ri’s crush and the most popular student in school; Youn Sang-hyun plays Baek Seong-rae, Se-ri’s classmate, desk mate, and friend who helps her with her crush confession operation; and Kang Mi-na as Ko In-jeong, Se-ri’s rival and friend.
Love Untangled is directed by Namkoong Sun, whose credits include The End of the World and Ten Months, from a script by Ji Chun-hee and Wang Doo-ri. The film is produced by Korea's bombaramfilm, the studio behind 2019 film Kim Ji-young: Born 1982.
