The Production Guild of Great Britain (PGGB) has announced the seven members of a new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee.
The committee's goal is to raise standards of diversity and inclusion below-the-line in the UK’s feature film and high end TV industries.
It is chaired by Valeria Bullo, an experienced production wellbeing and inclusion consultant.
Joining Bullo as vice chairs are line producers Benjamin Greenacre and Georgette Turner. Producer Andy Noble, line producer Cyrus Patel, first assistant director Ben Hughes and Universal International Studios VP, production Laura Burrows complete the committee.
The Committee will make its first joint appearance at the Talent Mixer, an event created in partnership between PGGB and Universal International Studios, taking place on Wednesday 6th November at NBC Universal’s space at Central St. Giles in London.
The EDI Committee will build on the work of PGGB initiatives including the annual Talent Showcase, the centrepiece of which is the presentation of The Duke of Edinburgh Film & TV Inclusion Award, which honours organisations who progress inclusion in the UK’s production workforce. Million Youth Media received the 2024 award in February of this year. The next Talent Showcase is scheduled to take place in March 2025.
PGGB’s first action group for EDI, the Diversity and Inclusion Action Group (DIAG), was launched in 2020.
