Paramount+ has released the official first-look images and teaser trailer for The Road Trip, based on the novel by Beth O’Leary.
The series jumps between past and present and follows Addie (played by Emma Appleton) and her sister Deb (Isabella Laughland) on a road trip to a friend’s wedding in Spain when they are forced to offer a ride to Addie’s ex Dylan (Laurie Davidson), his irrepressible best friend Marcus (David Johnson), and stranger Rodney (Angus Imrie). With nowhere to hide but a creaky campervan, the group must confront their buried history as secrets and revelations cause many a bump in the road.
The Road Trip was written and created for television by Vigil's Ryan O’Sullivan and Matilda Wnek and lead-directed by Everything I Know About Love's China Moo-Young. It is executive produced by Miriam Brent, Eleanor Moran and Rory Aitken for 42 in association with PTIS – the international studio division of Paramount Global. The filming took place in Bristol, UK and Gran Canaria, Spain.
Vehicle services were provided by Canary Pictures Vehicles, and health and safety services provided by UK-based Location Safety.
The Road Trip is the second Beth O’Leary adaptation by Paramount+ and 42 following the success of O’Leary’s debut bestseller The Flatshare, which premiered on Paramount+ in 2022.
