Pact has launched a production initiative designed to support all aspects of high-end TV drama, from broadcasters and streamers to unions, guilds, production companies and crew members.

The resource has been developed by Karl Liegis who serves as head of production at Slow Horses indie 60Forty Films, working alongside Pact.

It is intended to complement production support already in place across HETV productions by introducing new resources and connections as well as an indicative guide to potential cost implications at various band levels.

Available as a downloadable PDF available on the PACT resource hub here, the ambition is for the resource to help at all levels that a HETV band a production is at, demonstrating where there are opportunities to create examples of positive action and provide production support.

Broken down into five key areas, users are able to pick and mix support in accessibility, career development and training, counselling, wellbeing and HR, diversity equity and inclusion and sustainability.

The resource is free to use for anyone in the industry, including non-Pact members.

In a statement, Pact said it is hoped that further production support initiatives will be added such as in unscripted and feature film as well as children’s productions and regions and nations support.

Developer Liegis said the initiative was “the centralisation of many positive actions that are being used across our industry already”.

He added: “The resource intends to make it as easy as possible for those of us who build the productions to integrate support into them. The document at its core is about inclusivity and this is demonstrated from the outset by the way Pact has actively made it available to everyone.”

“This is Version 1, now it’s up to all of you to help create every version going forward.”
