Marvel’s latest movie, Guardians of the Galaxy, has started shooting at Shepperton Studios in the UK. The film introduces a new bunch of superheroes to the silver screen, including Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), The Collector (Benicio Del Toro), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Beatista) and Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) – all aptly named comic book characters if you ask us.
The film is written and directed by James Gunn (whose credits include superhero comedy Super) and produced by Marvel Studios’ president Kevin Feige, alongside exec producers Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jeremy Latcham, Alan Fine and Stan Lee. Nik Korda is on board as co-producer.
Plot details of Guardians of the Galaxy have been sketchy, but it is believed it will be set in the future where a fighting team battle against an evil race called the Badoon.
Marvel is no stranger to filming in Britain – the studio giant shot the sequel to Thor at Shepperton and Longross Studios in 2012, and are gearing up to film Avengers: Age of Ultron in early 2014 at Shepperton and Pinewood Studios.
