American actress Glenn Close is Stockholm-bound next year as she gears up for a winter/spring shoot on The Wife.
The feature is a big screen adaptation of the novel by Meg Wolitzer which centres on the breakdown of a marriage within New York’s glittering literary set. Close plays the wife of a high-profile but unfaithful novelist who decides to leave her perfidious husband as he is about to pick up a literary award in Stockholm.
Swedish director Bjorn Runge will be calling the shots from a screenplay by Jane Anderson. Unusually, the film will be shot in both English and Swedish.
Producers are Meta Louise Foldager of Meta Film Stockholm along with Rosalie Swedlin of Anonymous Content and Swedish producers Maria Dahlin and Gila Ulfung.
Close is currently in New York working on in Stephen Herek’s The Great Gilly Hopkins with Julia Stiles and Kathy Bates.
