Filming is underway in Poland for international sci-fi movie Warning, with post-production also scheduled to take place in the country.
Set in the near future, the movie follows a collection of characters whose lives interweave as part of a larger narrative that explores the meaning of life.
Photographer and video artist Agata Alexander is making her feature directorial debut on Warning, which features an ensemble cast including Thomas Jane, Alice Eve, Garance Marillier, Alex Pettyfer, Rupert Everett and Patrick Schwarzenegger.
Los Angeles-based Anova Pictures is producing with Poland’s Stasek Dziedzic of Film Produkcja and Klaudia Smieja-Rostworowska involved with the shoot as co-producers.
“The wealth of talent on show in this film is a testament to the high-concept, thought-provoking material, led by an interesting female filmmaker,” said producer Cybill Lui of Anova Pictures. “We are thrilled to be shooting in Poland with its rich filmmaking history and the wonderful crew.”
Poland launched a 30% cash rebate as its first formal filming incentive in February. The country had a strong 2018, with Pawel Pawlikowski’s feature Cold War winning acclaim around the world and alternate-history drama 1983 becoming Netflix’s first Polish series.
