Seven Studios in Australia is building its global appeal with thriller drama Between Two Worlds, which is now filming in Sydney with UK actor Hermione Norris as the star.

The drama follows a woman whose challenging life with a ruthless business tycoon unexpectedly collides with that of a widow who in contrast has a warm family life.

Between Two Worlds is written by Bevan Lee and is described as a “high-concept” production designed to appeal to international audiences.

“I am always script-led in decision-making and I found Bevan’s script full of well-drawn characters and a page turning narrative,” said Norris.

“It was a really entertaining read and fun for me to consider something a little bit different. I think audiences will love the colour and vibrancy of this thrilling and complex narrative – many secrets to be revealed and rivalries to be exposed.”

Seven Studios’ international strategy includes a big-budget drama adaptation of Jules Verne’s classic 19th century adventure novel Around the World in 80 Days, which was last adapted for the screen as a Disney movie in 2004.

Around the World in 80 Days is being developed by Seven Studios’ British production co-venture Slim Film + TV and The Alliance, which comprises France Televisions, ZDF Germany and RAI in Italy.

The story is being planned as an eight-part drama that will encompass global filming locations when it starts shooting in the coming months.
