A contemporary take on the Charles Dickens classic Oliver Twist has just begun principal photography in London starring Michael Caine as Fagin and with Raff Law in the title role.
The action is updated to modern-day life in the capital and depicts Oliver as a talented graffiti artist who is lured into a street gang headed by Fagin.
The film co-stars Lena Headey in a gender-swapped role of Sikes and Rita Ora as Dodge. David Walliams, Franz Drameh and Sophie Simnett are also among the cast.
Sky is co-producing Twist with Unstoppable Film and TV, Posterity Pictures and Pure Grass Films. Martin Owen directs from John Wrathall’s screenplay with additional writing by Owen and Sally Collett.
The producers are Matt Williams, Ben Grass, Jason Maza and Noel Clarke.
