Johnson plays an Interpol agent chasing a notorious art thief
By Nia Daniels 8 Oct 2019
Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot lead the cast of Red Notice, a major new Netflix feature that will film in Atlanta and Italy early next year.
The heist caper centres on the global pursuit of the world’s most wanted art thief, and was originally set up at Legendary and Universal Pictures before the streaming giant locked it down.
Rawson Marshall Thurber directs from his own screenplay; the producers are Beau Flynn through his Flynn Picture Company alongside Johnson, Hiram Garcia and Dany Garcia for Seven Bucks Productions.
Atlanta is a major US production hub, able to support multiple big-budget shoots, with Bad Boys For Life starring Will Smith among the recent features to have filmed there.
Italy has 15 active regional film commissions and offers a 30% tax credit that can be paid out during production rather than in retrospect.
