Filming gets underway this week on Chemistry of Death, a new Paramount+ drama from Cuba Pictures based on Simon Beckett’s crime novel.
Paramount confirmed to KFTV that the project is commissioned out of Germany and the 15-week shoot will film entirely in the UK, based largely in Glasgow and Norfolk, and will be delivered as a 6 x 60.
Chemistry of Death is based on Beckett’s novel of the same name — which was first published in 2006 and centres on the character of Dr David Hunter, who then featured in other novels by Beckett.
In the Chemistry of Death, Hunter is recovering from a tragedy while working as a doctor in a remote Norfolk village. When a corpse is discovered, local police call upon the reluctant Hunter to try to catch the killer, but then Hunter himself ends up under suspicion.
Chemistry of Death is part of a new slate of projects for Paramount +, including a Sexy Beast prequel series and an adaptation of A Gentleman in Moscow.
