My Lady Jane, a new historical comedy drama for Prime Video, begins filming in London this week.
The comedy drama is based on the 2016 YA novel by Brodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand and Jodi Meadows, that blends romance, magic and adventure.
It centres on a young Lady Jane Grey, played by US actor Emily Bader, as it reimagines her tragically short reign.
As first revealed by Deadline, Edward Bluemel and Jordan Peters co-star as Lord Guildford Dudley and King Edward respectively.
The series is produced by Amazon Studios and Parkes+MacDonald, the company launched by Laurie MacDonald and her husband Walter Parkes. Filming will run for around five months.
Gemma Burgess (Brooklyn Girls trilogy) and Meredith Glynn (The Boys) serve as co-showrunner/EP. Jamie Babbit (Only Murders in the Building) is directing the pilot and is producing director/EP, and Sarah Bradshaw (Citadel) and MacDonald are EPs.
My Lady Jane is one of several scripted projects underway in the UK at the moment: Also filming are tennis drama Fifteen-Love from World Productions and romcom feature How to Date Billy Walsh, while the behemoth second series of the Lord of the Rings project is in pre-production at two UK studios.
