Last Breath is based on the true story about an oil rig accident in the North Sea

Last Breath, a British production based on the true story of an oil rig accident in the North Sea, is currently filming in Malta.
The film is being directed by Alex Parkinson, who co-directed with Richard da Costa a 2019 documentary of the same title that informs the film.
The cast stars Simu Liu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) Finn Cole (Peaky Blinders), Djimon Hounsou (Shazam), and Woody Harrelson (True Detective).
Principal photography is taking place between May 29 and July 17, with post-production carried out abroad.
Mitchell LaFortune wrote the script. Producing are Paul Brooks and David Brooks through Early Bird Productions, Stewart le Maréchal, Al Morrow, Anna Mohr-Pietsch and Jeremy Plager.
Of the €22.8 million budget, €13.3m is allocated for Malta specifically.
