Manoj Bajpayee drama Bhaiyyaji starts filming in India

Production on Manoj Bajpayee's (The Family Man) upcoming film Bhaiyyaji is underway in Uttar Pradesh, India.

The feature, on which Bajpayee also serves as a producer, began filming on Tuesday (Sep 19) on the auspicious occasion of 'Ganesh Chaturthi'. 

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the actor announced production start by tweeting: "Today marks the first day of my film BHAIYYAJI as both an actor and producer at Aurega Studios. I'm working alongside @apoorvsinghkarki01, @vikramkhakhar and #ShabanaRazaBajpayee and the super strong support from @vinod.bhanushali1 at @bsl_films, as well as @iamsameksha and @itsshaeloswal at @ssoproductions. Filming begins for #BhaiyyaJi. Your blessings mean everything as we embark on this journey."

The project marks the second collaboration between the star, director Apoorv Singh Karki and producer Vinod Bhanushali following Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, which had a digital release in May this year.

Bhaiyyaji will explore themes such as "standing for your family and vengeance for the wrongs done towards your own". It is set against the backdrop of a revenge drama and family bonding. 

The film will be directed by Apoorv Singh Karki and bankrolled by Vinod Bhanushali. It is penned by Deepak Kingrani, and is produced by Kamlesh Bhanushali, Samiksha Oswal, Shael Oswal, Shabana Raza Bajpayee, and Vikram Khakhar.

Elsewhere, in July this year, Bajpayee started filming the sequel to ZEE5's crime thriller Silence, which follows the Aban Bharucha Deohans and Tania Deohans-directed 2021 film.

Posting to Instagram at the time, ZEE5 shared a teaser poster of Bajpayee holding a clapperboard titled 'Silence 2' inside the fictional Night Owl Bar. The caption reads: "Silence ! Silence ! Silence ! Something is coming up 🤫".

The star will reprise his role as ACP Avinash in what is described as a "suspenseful whodunit that will have you on the edge of your seat."

Per the logline, the story will "peel back the layers of a complex web of deceit, lies, and hidden truths, ACP Avinash embarks on an investigation into the mysterious death of a prominent woman in the first book. The audience is led on an intense journey that culminates in a startling revelation as the suspense grows."
