Hamlet, starring Riz Ahmed, has wrapped production.
Ahmed confirmed the project finished filming on December 21, posting to his Instagram account: "13 years in the making…that’s a wrap."
The feature reunites Ahmed with director Aneil Karia. They previously co-wrote the Oscar winning short film The Long Goodbye in which Ahmed starred with Karia directing. Joe Alwyn and Morfyyd Clark also star.
The modern adaptation of Hamlet is set in London with Ahmed starring as the titular prince, driven to violence to avenge his father’s murder while being haunted by the latter’s ghost.
Karia directs from a screenplay by Michael Lesslie. Ahmed and Allie Moore produce for their banner Left Handed Films, alongside Lesslie’s Storyteller Productions; James Wilson also produces.
